You are invited to join us on Good Friday for a contemplative service of reading together and reflecting on the scriptures leading up to and the event of Jesus' death. In this life, we are no strangers to pain and suffering, and even death. Let us ask Jesus to be our teacher along the way. What areas of our lives at this time need to be transformed through the rhythm of death, burial and resurrection? Jesus knows our suffering, our grief, our pain and promises to walk through it with us - even leading the way.

Dear Church,

We have a change of plans for this Easter Sunday. Although we were very excited about our opportunity at SE Memorial Hermann,  our main goal is to serve the hospital well and we have received word today that Easter service is not meeting that goal for all who are involved. 

We will gather at ECL at 10am for an outdoor service as we celebrate and live as people of the resurrection! It will be so good to be together. Egg hunt to follow service. 

Your Easter basket donations are still well received and will be dispersed to hospital staff working on Sunday morning. We remain hopeful that our relationship with the hospital finds the right way forward. Join us in praying for a clear path!

This next week we enter in to the season of Lent. While a season of reflecting on the heavy events that led to Jesus' death and resurrection, it is also a rich season of practicing being present and intentionally pressing in to the practices that draw us in to deeper communion with God and with each other. We feast, we fast, we pray, we meditate, and we celebrate. We hope you plan to join us for the special times of fellowship as we journey together this Lenten season.

Fat Tuesday Pancake Dinner, March 4th @ 5:30 pm. Join us for the last day before the lent season begins and eat some delicious pancakes. We are looking for a few people to help flip pancakes and a few to help clean up. If you are available, contact Karis or Drea.

Ash Wednesday Ashes, March 5th. - stop by between 6-7pm. We will not be having a service but if you would like to receive ashes, I (Ashley) will be at ECL offering the imposition of ashes and a short blessing for you or your family.

If you are not able to make it out on Wednesday but would like to participate, we have put together an at-home Ash Wednesday Guide with some reflections and prayers to read through and engage in for individuals and families with young ones.

This Sunday, November 24th we will worship together by breaking bread and decking the halls of our 218 building!

Mark your calendars and plan to bring a brunch food or snack food to share. We will have time to eat, take communion, and work together on preparing our building for the coming Advent season.

For our Sunday Morning Worship Service this week, join us at 10 AM for a brunch potluck. Bring a favorite brunch item to share. We will spend the morning breaking bread and sharing in each others lives.

All ages will be together for our meal, there will be no kid connect or early childhood class.
